Privacy Issues: Cell Phones and Privacy (Assignment 3B)
Prepaid cell phones should not be discontinued because criminals use them. We might as well discontinue guns, knives, alcohol and cars because criminals use them too. Prepaid cell phones are extremely useful when one is traveling out of the country, they are an inexpensive way for a few phone calls to a relative or loved one. Coming from experience, the first cell phone I ever owned was a prepaid flip phone that I bought with the money I had earned from reffing soccer games. My parents did not think cell phones would be useful for someone my age, this experience taught me to always strive for what I wanted no matter how long it took me. The desire for a cell phone motivated me to obtain my first job and helped me set goals for myself. Oh and guess what my mother hopped on the iPhone bandwagon the same time I did, it was my turn to tell her she was obsolete for this technology.

Definitely agree with you, pre paid cell phones are still very useful for kids who may not be responsible enough to have an actual cell phone or parents that want to limit their kids' phone use. I also had a prepaid cell phone that I bought minutes per month and it taught me how to budget how much time I spend on the phone, especially as a young teenager.
